I've got a whinge about people who edit and splice their lives and are not complete as a result!!

I've been giving some serious thought lately to the notion of people denying who they are..

What I mean is, to everybody else they are very obviously what or who they are but they try really hard to cover their tracks and deny it all.

Not everybody does this of course because most sensible people know it is better to be yourself as it causes less hassle in the long run.

An example of someone being in denial would be the gay bloke or woman who pretends they aren't, quite possibly to save the feelings of family members or friends but they often find when they finally come out that everybody knew anyway and it wasn't the secret they thought it was.

I know someone who is currently going through this process but he's not gay. He is who he is but it seems he doesn't like himself very much and due to his obsequious nature and inherent desire to please everybody he is - to me- displaying an extreme lack of a backbone through denial and mental erasure of things like situations and people he's experienced which explain a lot about who he is.

I can't help wondering what on earth he is so fearful of, and what it is he imagines could be the worst outcome of his actually being open and honest ?

It's a mystery............and I am whinging because now that I've caught the scent of this strange thing I've become insatiably curious and I'm afraid I may stop at nothing to get to the bottom of this and discover once and for all what is going on, what could possibly have wrought this extreme paranoia etc.

But I'm also thinking what a shame that anybody would consider something in their life to be such a dirty little secret that they would go to quite long lengths to hide it.

There's lots of things I've done in my life which were embarrassing, foolish and where I used bad judgement - but I'd never be ashamed of anything I've ever done because it makes me who I am and I like myself even if lots of other people don't.


I'm so glad I got that out of my system !!!!


P.S. don't worry about replying sensibly to this post because it's really just a whinge and not a major issue for me and I'm pretty sure I've written it badly and once read the reader will say to themself "WTF was that all about ?"
